Executive Order 13547- Stewardship of the Ocean, Our Coasts, and the Great Lakes

The Executive Order adopts a National Policy that includes a set of overarching guiding principles for management decisions and actions, and establishes a National Ocean Council to guide executive agencies in implementing the final recommendations of the Interagency Ocean Policy Task Force. The order also provides for the development of regional coastal and marine spatial plans.
