Introduction
There are two ways to search for information on the Offshore WindHub:
- State, Federal, and Multi-State pages: sort resources by title, source/sponsor, and date (according to subject matter category)
- Keyword Search: search by keyword(s) at top right-hand menu on all pages ("Search")
1. State, Federal, and Multi-State pages
The libraries at the central bottom portion of all State, Federal, and Multi-State pages contain all the resources for the respective geographies/collaboration themes.
- Click on column label to sort by subject matter (topic/subtopic), title, source/sponsor, or date.
- Resources can be searched by a single subject matter (topic/subtopic) at one time.
- Clicking on a resource title in a resource library will direct you to a resource page. The downloaded resource opens in the same window; closing the document will cause you to exit the site. Click on the back button on your web browser to return to the resource page. Click on the back button again to return to the State, Federal, or Multi-State page.
- To search for keyword(s) within a PDF, save the resource to a hard drive, and then, after opening, right click on "Find." Enter the keyword(s) and Adobe Reader will display matches.
2. Keyword Search
Type a keyword in the Search box at the top right corner of the website. Click the Search button or press Enter on your keyboard. The system will search for matches on the Offshore WindHub website pages and within the entire site resource library.
- Click on links or check off appropriate boxes in the right-hand sidebar to filter search results according to defined parameters: publication date; resource type(s); state; federal; multi-state initiative; subject(s); and tag(s).
- Filter/select resources from the search results in a sequential manner: for example, select a primary filter, such as a state; then, browse within the search results according to a secondary filter, such as subject or date, to drill deeper. The symbol (-) will appear next to any designated filters.
- Require or exclude terms using + and - when typing keyword(s) in the Search box. For example, "offshore +wind resources" will require a match on "wind" while "offshore wind -resources" will exclude results that contain "resources".
- The tagging classification system is evolving and based on user input. Tags are keywords which can cut across subtopics and topics. Each tag leads to an index page listing all of the documents associated with that tag.
- To search for keyword(s) within a PDF, save the resource to a hard drive, and then, after opening, right click on "Find." Enter the keyword(s) and Adobe Reader will display matches.
